Great way to end this chapter, mostly on a positive note. hope they can find out about Rosa's dad. Well I guess it's a good thing that Mr. Michael's was not as involved in this as we had all anticipated. Well I guess that's more to add to the guest list. Just an amazing story to follow, thanks ever so.

Yup! Buffy's going to need some help with this mess so that Social Services won't make a fuss and try to make trouble for Buffy. Once they get this sorted out again, there are wedding plans to be takin care of. Loved that Buffy had the Army's doctor getting their drinks for them. Oh, on a side note I told my boyfriend about the Chili chocolate cheesecake and he said that he'd heard of chilies used with sweets before, he lived in Arizona, apparently with some very good results. I eat very little with the hint of spice in it, but I'm taking your word that it's to die for. Thanks for the great chapter.

You suprised me, that went down without any fight. I have to admit I was a little disappointed. I was really hoping that Spike could get some physical payback from Riley who had sadisticly staked him. Riley may have the problem's with his command and the humiliation of finding out about his wife but I still thought he deserved more. At least Spike didn't tell them about Sam being infected. He's right, they will figure it out themselves. Two more to go. Great read, thanks.

Oooo this is so good. Just loved Spike's little love tap he gave Sam. Too bad Riley showed up to slow the festivities down, I've know doubt their presence won't slow down the interrogation much or for long. Thanks for show Spike at his best. Amazing story, exciting chapter, incredible read.

Finally, maybe now Willow's starting to understand how much Buffy does trust him. hate that Buffy's beating herself up over Dawn's condition, ya I know that she wasn't always there for Dawn, but we know just how much she loves her. I guess Sam was thinking about the old Angel, the loner, not CEO of AI with friends, family and associates. Can't wait for Spike to get there. Almost done with this book YAY! Hope that we bring in some of your new characters more - I really like This is a beautiful fic, I've been following it awaiting chapter updates for ages. Now that it's finished I can't wait for the next "book". The series so far has been absolutely wonderful and I am eagerly awaiting the next addition. I liked the bits about Blood - of course Spike knows the difference between Dawn's blood and other people's geesh people - he is a vampire! I love this part - "Enough to know I don't have to string the boy up for not taking proper care of her. Let's go." And Spike's tirade to Brandon's dad - priceless! Powerful chapter - I like the dream that took place and the points about Buffy always, always putting anything a human said abover that of a demon. Even if she doesnt believe in the demons bad party line, there is still a part of her that is biogeted as well. I love the way you write characters - yow show them when they are acting strong and they are acting bitchy - it is great. They don't remain static one diminsional but act in ways that give nuances to the story and bring the characters to life in my mind. thank you (Jus reflecting on dawn here - you write her so well, she is strong and adult in someplaces, a teen in others) it truly is her character come to life!

Angel as heroic? jaw drops down in shock! Well I guess go - giggles, I actually don;t mind angel he is a good character flaws and all. He and Buffy just never worked well together - the characters are wrong for each other. Angel always needed someone more like Darla - someone who would take control but still let him feel needed. buffy could never be that person for him (don't get wigged but I have always liked him paired with willow or cordy)/. So good angel sections!

I seriously love this chapter - It may be one of favorites so far in this series. I love the way the Spike cut Hank down with nothing but the truth. The way Buffy left and Dawn's reaction as well. It was severally frustrated at Buffy's defense of Riley - but completly in character. I wanted to strangle her and beat some sense into her slayer strengh or no. The bit about torture you had was brilliant and such an important point that is overlooked often. How did Riley have the stake that fast? He has to like torture and have a taste for it - otherwise he would have never had one made. Brilliant brilliant chapter sweetie!

Good chapter.... Lol...that's one thing you can count on from Riley - his faith that a demon will act like a demon if they're unrestrained. Benefits the group that he thinks Spike still has the chip, so doesn't matter now. Yeah, a gyno exam if she was awake and tense would definitely not be comfortable. Hardly comfortable when you're prepared for it. Have to be careful about Willow. She's not pulling power from the right source. Too much too soon will fry her head. And I can just imagine Angel's look of impatience with Spike again. Those two can be so funny.

In answer to your question about Angel being heroic, you did pull it off, he was much more like the Angel of the first 2 seasons of Angel the Series, before he turned into an idiot ;)

Really like this whole series. Just read the first two yesterday and I'm already half way through this one. I like the way you've portrayed Angel and Spike's relationship, and the Dawn boyfriend thing especially. I thought from your author's note in 4.12 that you took the person's criticism a bit too much to heart. There are places where it could be more authentically American sounding, but I don't think whether you say 'ring up' or 'call up' really effects the story, so who cares, right? I'm sure Americans would have a lot of trouble making things sound completely British, too, so don't worry about it. I thought the person who commented meant to be constructive, but it's a silly detail that doesn't really matter to the story. Anyways, keep up the great work. I can't wait until you finish this one :)

I really am enjoying the direction you have taken - I love the way The Initative is still running - makes complete sense - always thought the throwaway scene on cementing the complex down in BTVS was too pat. What a yummy way to re introduce them in all their vivisectionist glory. I am intrigued by Brandon and Dad I like the way he has set his infulential friends onto those schmucks may the courtmartials begin.

I've just the latest 2 updates on your site, couldn't wait for the Crypt
update. They are v. good, had me on the edge of my seat. I always knew
Sam was too good to be true :-)
Re dialog, I only discovered BtVS in series 6, so my knowledge of Dru and
her musings is limited and has been gathered from repeats. It suprised me
that they would want to put 2 different London accents in the show. My
experience of US TV is that producers seem to struggle with a single,
stereotype of faux queens english. Multiple London accents are an
adventurous and not unwlecome move, esp. since Spike's north london accent
comes off really well. Dru's cockney - from my limited exposure - sounded a
little ragged in places.
Keep up the good work. I'm looking forward to the Sam & Buffy showdown.

Hi,
I've been reading 'ring of fire' and just wanted to tell you that I'm thoroughly enjoying it. It's refreshing read fanfic that does not simply re-hashe the buffy/spike relationship angst and instead develops the charecters on in an interesting direction. Also, the dialog for Spike is nicely english and isn't peppered with faux cockney slang (as found in alot of other fan fic). No self respecting north londer would use 'Cor' as an expression or expletive.
I have to admit, that I find reading a serialisation difficult, because once I get hooked by a story line it becomes all consuming until I've finished the book. However, I am learning that anticipation can be a wonderful thing, and look forward to the next installment.

Oh my god. Just read through Spike's Will Be Done, True Colors and Ring of Fire and I wanted to scream!!! Read all of it in 2 days, and found out it's still a WIP! Arrrrghhhh!
Anyway - love your Spike. He's just nummylicious. As for your Buffy... well, it's wonderful to see her worldview broadening. Now all she has to do is smack Xander upside his head. Spike having actual friends and relationships in the demon community is delightful.

I love reading your "True Colors" / "Ring of Fire" fan fiction stories, I cannot wait for an update. You have a great balance of plot and smut. While I am inclined to agree with the critic who said that some of your American characters use British words (such as "ring" instead of "call") it is easy to gloss over when in the context of such a great story. I have never given "feedback" before, but felt that it was necessary to inform you that yours is the most grammatically correct fanfiction that I have ever read and gives me new hope for the quality of fanfic! I'm still loving the story. I do think Spike went to far. I wonder if Dawn had been the one who had a temper tantrum how many reviews there would be saying she should grow up. Just a thought. Great story. |

I'm SO glad everything's looking ok for now. I had thought there'd be an accident, and then Brandon would make good on his promise and .. So, very relieved reader here.
Loved the making up. Good to see Dawn is mature enough to cope with it, although Spike's post blow-up calm must've helped.
And, a nice bit of very Spikish mischief at the end. Great stuff, as always. |

Hi,
I really like your story. I wonder why in 4.02 Dawn didn't mention that Spike and Buffy were the ones who couldn't control their hormones when they accused her of acting like a kid. I wish she had mentioned it to them their response would have been interesting. |

I love your story so much; Spike's will be done is great, but True Colors and Ring of Fire are thrilling,and entrancing!The sex scenes are well written and hot, there is all the things that make a good plot: passion, suspense, beautiful feelings.. Glad Dawn realised she was being silly, even if she's got to go to extreme lengths to avoid apologising.
It seems to me it's a mark of a realistic relationship. She wants Buffy and Spike to act like a mum and dad when it suits her, but she's happy with the advantages of having an older sister as her guardian when it suits her, too.
Intrigued by the dream. Is she coming back??? |

hee hee. Well that was a fun return to Sunnyhell. And a great way to quit smoking - wish I'd had that kinda help. Although I would have wanted to be grabbing parts of Spike and... never mind. Really enjoyed it. Thanks for another great chapter. Also gotta go with Josephine - nice job with the Angel likability and hero thing. Don't usually have much time for him in fic although I watch the show (mainly for Wes these days - mmmmm). So again, nice job all round.

| I've just read the last four chapters. So, Angel the hero? Ok, it seemed fairly believable. In fact, you've kept Angel fairly likeable recently. So, you get a pat on the back from me, 'cos that's not too easy.
Loved the phrase - only two (supporters) came with the Buffy package - the rest you gathered all by yourself. It's exactly how it should be, and how I (still) hope I'll see on the show. |

| Just read 3.2 - and I'm now trying not to cry. You are doing such a wonderful job with this saga. Your characters are clearly and thoughtfully drawn and your storytelling is superb. I am totally hooked. And have been since you started it (and I can't remember if I reviewed before but...no excuse. Sorry. V lax of me). I don't know how you keep it so fresh after this many chapters but you've managed it. I look forward to the next installment - and all the ones after that. Thank you for a great read. |

I have faith that the crew'll get to Lorne on time, but in true cliffhanger style, only just.
The scene between our two favourites was lovely - warm and affectionate as well as the more mormal passionate.

Sigh...poor Dru. I love that you've made her a sympathetic character. People don't always remember that what Dru is is something that was done to her, not something she chose to be. (Did that make sense?) Yay for you.

I really, really love this story and this was an excellent chapter. I wish I was Lorne so I could be taking care of poor naked spike;) Anyway, I can't wait until spike finally does something or saves someone that will finally make angel realise he was wrong and spike really is a changed man. I have just one more question, are anya and xander going to come and help find spike or are they going to stay in sunnydale, cause I think xander's orbs will come in useful. |

i've just read ring of fire 1.10 and i can't believe what you've done, i was optimistic when i saw spike would never renounce Buffy under torture, but making him forget about his love for her, that's sick... I'm sorry... Why did you have to ruin a story that was going so well. I don't get you guys loving putting B and S through torment... Aren't spoilers for Ep 7.21 bad enough? Jesus...

Enjoying the story so far, and I immediately thought the unknown guy was Lindsay, the guitar-playing, ballad-singing, ex-lawyer from Wofram & Hart. He's the one Dru might know in L.A. who was in love with Darla and pretty much hates Angel's guts all the way through. |
